Limited Warranty Information & FAQ:

Elite Obsolete Electronics offers a free limited warranty on all iPods sold.

Policy for brand new prebuilt iPods:

The warranty I offer covers my own work and the parts I install, basically I am not responsible for covering anyone else's work and/or parts.

 Theoretically, in a situation where the end-user upgrades the SD cards & down the line dead pixels appear on the LCD - I can cover that. 

Same situation with RockBox, simply installing RockBox does not void the warranty. The installation is done at your own risk, if you end up bricking the board during the process - that isn't covered under warranty.

For any iPod sent back for warranty service, RockBox must be uninstalled before returning the iPod.

Simply the act of disassembling/reassembling the iPod does not void the warranty.

However, improperly disassembling/reassembling the iPod will void the warranty. 

- iPods are covered 1 year from original purchase date NOT delivery date. 

- Warranty DOES COVER defective parts, improper installation of parts, or loss of functionality without liquid/physical damage or signs of user error/mishandling.

- Warranty DOES NOT cover accidental drops, physical or liquid damage detrimental to function, or any loss in functionality due to user accident.

- iPods sent back for warranty claim will be meticulously inspected, tested, and opened for signs of 3rd party tampering/maintenance & physical or liquid damage.

- Parts installed by our technicians have been marked/logged to maintain the integrity of the warranty. All iPod's serial numbers have also been logged for the same reason.

 

Policy for refurbished new battery prebuilt iPods:

- iPods are covered 180 days from original purchase date NOT delivery date. 

- Warranty DOES COVER defective parts, improper installation of parts, or loss of functionality without liquid/physical damage or signs of user error/mishandling.

- Warranty DOES NOT cover accidental drops, physical or liquid damage detrimental to function, or any loss in functionality due to user accident.

- iPods sent back for warranty claim will be meticulously inspected, tested, and opened for signs of 3rd party tampering/maintenance & physical or liquid damage.

- Parts installed by our technicians have been marked/logged to maintain the integrity of the warranty. All iPod's serial numbers have also been logged for the same reason.

- Brand new replacement parts for iPods are covered 90 days from original purchase date NOT delivery date. 

- Warranty DOES COVER defective parts, improper installation of parts, or loss of functionality without liquid/physical damage or signs of user error/mishandling.

- Warranty DOES NOT cover accidental drops, physical or liquid damage detrimental to function, or any loss in functionality due to user accident.
